Compassion DTS (YWAM-DTS)

The Compassion DTS aims to be an extension of God's Love to those who are in need both physically and spiritually. The very word compassion means to suffer together, to be involved in a point of taking action to help. This DTS has Children at risk, Mercy Ministries, and Evangelism all together at the same time. It's going to be a unique time to show God's love to the nations.

The Compassion DTS covers the same topics as taught in the Discipleship Training School. An 8-week outreach is included, where the principles learned in the lecture phase are applied and students share their faith using a variety of ministries such as: children ministries, mercy ministries and evangelism.

The Discipleship Training School (YWAM-DTS) is an intensive Christian training course beginning with an 12 week lecture/teaching phase followed by an 8 week practical field assignment. The DTS is designed to encourage students in personal character development, cultivating a living relationship with God and identifying their unique individual gifts and callings in God.

Cross-cultural exposure and global awareness are special emphases throughout the course, preparing the students to reach current and future generations and answer the call to "Go into all the world and make disciples of all nations." (Mark 16:15, Matt. 28:19)

The curriculum includes the following:

a. The Christian's Relationship to God: understanding the character and ways of God, how to hear the voice of God, and developing a personal devotional life.
b. The Christian's Relationship to Oneself and others: personal character development; discovery and release of one's gifts and ministries; stewardship; principles of healthy relationships; forgiveness.
c. The Christian's Relationship to the Word: how to develop a consistent lifestyle of personal study; meditation and the application of Biblical truth.
d. The Christian's Relationship to the Church: commitment, unity; understanding the complementary role of the local church and missions structures.
e. The Christian's Stand against the Enemy: Resisting temptation; prayer and intercession; spiritual warfare.
f. The Christian's Orientation to Youth With A Mission (YWAM) International: its three-fold calling to Evangelism, Training and Mercy Ministries; the foundational values and ministry opportunities.
