We’ve been busy the last few weeks in the ELS! We made a visit to the Institute for the Blind in town which was a really special experience for the students as they spoke to and interacted with the people working at the Institute. The ELS students were able to relate so easily to the blind people as they can identify with them on some level in their struggle to communicate and interact with other people. It was so beautiful to see them chatting away together – even the Level 1 students!
Also last week, Pastor Fola visited and spoke to us about evangelism and gave us some practical tips for how to talk to people about Jesus. And today we went out and put it into practice. We had our weekly worship time in Church Square in town and then divided into pairs and walked around the area to share with people. The students led one person to the Lord, fed one hungry person, and prayed for many more! All in English! It was a really exciting morning for us as we have been praying a lot for the city. This past Tuesday, we felt led to spend our weekly intercession time walking around the perimeter of the base, proclaiming Truth into the surrounding areas. So it is exciting to see God moving not only in the lives of the students but also through them to reach this city. (Emily Beliles)
