Troubadour DTS - YWAM DTS (DSP 211/212)
Welcome to the Troubadour Discipleship Training School with focus on the creative arts:
A Troubadour Discipleship Training School (TDTS) offers the same curriculum as a classic DTS. The primary focus is Discipleship, however the school is ran in a very creative way. During the TDTS Christian artists are being practically taught on discipleship and equipped to share the Good News in a creative way, also recognizing gifts and talents that we all have that was given by God, and able then, to reach the full potential in GOD.
Creative learning is being facilitated and creative people are being understood and embraced. The school also offers different artistic workshop to discover more of our God given talents "The artistic workshops depend on the human source that we will have".
It's an opportunity for people involved in music, drama, fine arts, dance, cooking, video production, sculpting, design and any other form of arts to get restoration, healing and to be radical in knowing God and making him known creatively. Welcome on the TDTS an environment that understands creative people's needs, wants, desires and learning styles.
We’re the tools, God is our source and the Nations are our stage.
What is a Troubadour?
A Troubadour was a composer and performer of songs during the Middle Ages in Europe. The tradition began to flourish during the 11th century. Many troubadours traveled for great distances, aiding in the transmission of trade and news. A complementary role was filled at the same period by performers known as joggles in Occitan, jongleurs in French (minstrels in English). Jongleurs are often addressed in troubadour lyrics. Their profession was that of popular entertainer; as such jongleurs sometimes performed troubadour compositions but more often other genres, notably
chansons de geste (epic narratives).
Today we could say that a Troubadour was a traveling artist, transmitting news.
The redeemed form of it: A Troubadour is a traveling Christian artist transmitting the Good News.
Field Assignment OUTREACH
As a second phase of the DTS, specially organized teams are sent out for 8-12 weeks of evangelism in cross-cultural situations. The emphasis is on application of principles taught in the DTS lecture phase, coupled with teaching on evangelism concepts and practices equipping students to share their faith using a variety of means. Special assignments are given during this course.
In our outreach phase we will use our creative gifts to minister to people and transmit the Good News.
