“After the xenophobic attacks on Zimbabwean citizens in de Doorns (neighbour town of Worcester) YWAM offered its help to the Social Services of the district. It was great to hear that the social services already took good care of the victims and helped them with all they needed. YWAM was then asked to rather run a program for local kids (and later also for adults) as a preventive action. Our task: teach on human rights. On the remark that we’ll be glad to do that, but it will be obviously out of a Christian perspective we got the answer: “this will be very much appreciated.†So we went for a two hours program with approximately 150 to 200 local kids in de Doorns. Games, dramas, songs and short teachings. At the end each child was blessed with a hamburger sandwich and a cool drink. Thank you Social Services to allow us to work hand in hand with you.” (Bruno)
This morning we had our first base intercession of the year and we looked at the principles for an effective intercession.
“Seeking God comes from knowing His presence. This is what I try to live by every day of my life. Practicing the presence of Jesus, so that whether you pray or whether you work or witness, or whatever you do, you practice the presence of Jesus.”
