YWAM Worcester DTS
YWAM Discipleship Training School

YWAM Nation Builders Pretoria Campus

The Discipleship Training School (YWAM-DTS) seeks to bring you into a more intimate relationship with God. It also gives you an opportunity to discover your passions and your part in God’s purposes for the world. It is for those who long to follow Jesus in new ways with a different perspective.

The course is a full-time program and lasts about five months. It consists of two parts: the Lecture Phase and Outreach Phase. In the lecture phase, you will learn more about God and His world. You’ll learn not only from lectures but also from community living and practical training. The outreach phase focuses on applying what you’ve learned in the classroom through an intense, cross-cultural experience.

The Nation Builders campus is located in Pretoria, South Africa.

URBAN X DTS

Experience God.

Experience his heart for the city.

Experience his heart for you.

EXPRESS YOUR EXPERIENCE!

We call on the creatives, the artists, the actors, the photographers, the singers, the dancers, the painters, all who have a desire to express themselves in a creative way.  We believe that artists are uniquely equipped to influence the different subcultures and spheres in the city and that God can use them in a powerful way.

During this DTS, we want to have an experience with God within the unique urban landscapes of Pretoria and Johannesburg in the province of Gauteng. Gauteng means ‘the place of gold’ and is the administrative and economical capital of South Africa. It is a vibrant, cosmopolitan, but still uniquely African megalopolis, with around 15 million people living within its borders.

A unique landscape needs unique methods to bring the good news of Jesus. During the DTS we will explore our creative talents and how God wants us to use them to express our journey with him, and his heart for the city and the world.

The philosophies of our times might come from different places, but it is the artists who spread them!

NATION BUILDERS DTS

The Nation Builders Discipleship Training School is conducted in Pretoria the Administrative Capital of South Africa. See more on the city on this video.

Our world today is searching for answers in every area of life. It is crying out for societal systems and structures that once again champion the dignity of the human person as created in the image of God, providing foundations for a culture that facilitates the flourishing of all of life. We believe these answers rest in God’s people when we commit as individuals to fulfil our purpose; God’s story about our days, which He ordained before time that we should walk in.

In this DTS we offer you a time of reflection on your life map, tracing the authority that God has given you in an area of need, to usher in His Kingdom. We want to look at what it means to be truly human, God’s design for every sphere of society; family, education, church, government, economics (business), science and technology, communication, arts and sports.

In John 10:10 Jesus declares the following to the Pharisees, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (NIV). The Lord Jesus Christ came that you may have life and have it to the full. Not that you would only exist and barely survive, but thrive, expand and influence. He came so that we would flourish.

We’ll explore the concept of flourishing focusing on the questions – What does it mean to have life? What would it look like if we had it to the full?

Our answers to these questions will speak to our:

  • Life calling (what is the problem that needs fixing? The need that God is highlighting to you?)
  • How you’ll address the need (what is your strategy and outcomes? How will you know that you’re walking out your calling?)
  • The sphere of influence you’re called to (what is God’s design and purpose with each sphere?)

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)

Focus lectures will include:

  • Transformational leadership
  • Cultural Redemption
  • Nation Building Project Plan
(a framework for action towards fulfilling your purpose and calling)

Weekly city engagements will include:

  • University campus ministry
  • Community projects

The Nation Builders DTS will also offer an internship according to the area of need you feel called to. This is an opportunity to further refine and begin implementing your Nation Building project, while receiving mentorship for further effectiveness in your field. Please make sure to fill out the pre-course survey to help us prepare better for you.

Testimonials about the DTS

DTS started a journey in me, to be intentional with people around me and explore the bottomless love of God. To know God more clears my identity and creates strong friendships.
- Kabelo Mokoena, Former DTS Student
My DTS was an unforgettable experience! I could know God and go deeper into a relationship with him. Knowing him and who He made me to be opened space for healing and to live in complete freedom. I also had a chance to know new cultures, learn from them, and worship the same God together in many different ways! If you want to know your identity, you need to know the creator.
