The Word by Heart is a school of YWAM that invites students to encounter Scripture not merely as a text to be studied, but as a story to be entered. Rooted in the conviction that the Word of God is living and active, the school creates space for Scripture to shape our imagination, form our loves, and reorient our lives around God’s redemptive purposes.
Through re-imagining the Word, students learn to engage the Bible as a unified, storied revelation that speaks into real life. Through truth-telling, the Word is allowed to speak honestly—naming what is true about God, the world, and ourselves—cultivating humility, repentance, and spiritual maturity. And through retelling the story, students are equipped to faithfully carry God’s story forward, embodying and communicating it in their contexts, relationships, and mission.
The Word by Heart is for those who long to be formed by Scripture at a deep level—where knowing the Bible is inseparable from being transformed by it, and where the story of God becomes the story we live and share.

FEES*
Our fees are based on the nationality of the applicant. This fee structure (want to know more about it?) allows students from less privileged backgrounds to join our training. The fees are in South African Rand, including tuition, food, and housing for 11 weeks.

Zone 2 (Latin America and Asia): R36,350
