When I came into the school, I didn’t really know what to expect. I just wanted to learn more about worldview and reformation. But God had something much deeper in mind for me. I grew up in a gang-infested community—violence, gunshots, fear… that was normal for me. From a young age, I learned that safety wasn’t guaranteed. So I taught myself to always have a plan B, sometimes even a plan C. I always needed a way out, a way to protect myself. I thought that was the only way to survive. But during this school, God started to gently break that wall down. He began to show me that I didn’t need a backup plan anymore. For the first time in my life, I felt safe enough to just be. I didn’t need to run, or hide, or prepare for the worst. Something shifted inside me—I realized that safety doesn’t come from control; it comes from trust. And I began to trust God in a way I never had before. The school became a place of healing, but even more, God became my safe place. For the first time, I truly believed that He could protect me. And even now, when fear tries to creep in, I remind myself: God is my refuge. I am safe with Him. That truth has changed everything for me.
